Baby Cot / Cribs
Babies need to have their own place to sleep and to feel secure. This is most often in the form of a baby crib. This contains a soft mattress, blankets, and bars all the way around it to prevent the child from falling out. This allows the parents to sleep well too because they know their baby is very safe. It is important to keep an eye on your baby though as they get older.
Some will attempt to climb out of the crib. Most have levels you can lower the mattress down to. Once your baby is standing up you should have the mattress at the lowest possible level to keep them save. Should you still have concerns then it is time to remove them from the crib and into a toddler bed.
Many parents are worried about the price the pay for a baby crib versus the use they will get out of it though. As a result many are now investing in those that can be converted. Once your baby is too big or not safe in the crib it can be converted into a toddler bed. Once they outgrow the toddler bed it can be converted into a day bed. This means it can be used for many years before the child no longer needs it.
A parent can also look into getting a used baby crib for a low price. You do need to make sure what you buy is safe though. You don’t want there to be issues with lead paint or that there is a recall out there for that model of baby crib. Take your time to really choose what will work best for your household.
Most parents have plenty of wonderful memories that involve their baby in that crib. It can be sad to take it down and put it away or give it away. Many parents hold onto them for sentimental value. They may give the baby crib to their child when it is time for them to have their own baby.
Most parents have the crib put up for the baby well before it arrives. They know it is one of the main things that needs to be ready. Others are quite superstitious and find it to be bad luck to have the crib up before they bring their baby home. Therefore they don’t do it until the baby is already there with them.
